Whether you're signing up for yourself or your child, people who start BJJ don't just get fitter. They get sharper, more confident, and part of something that genuinely matters.

Real Self-Defense Skills
BJJ is proven to work in real situations, regardless of size or strength. Kids learn to stay safe. Adults learn to handle themselves — and that confidence changes how you move through the world.

The Body Transformation Is Real
BJJ works muscles you didn't know you had. Strength, flexibility, cardio — it all improves, at any age, without ever feeling like punishment.

Mental Toughness Built Session by Session
Every class teaches kids and adults how to stay calm under pressure. That carries into every area of life — school, work, relationships, everything.

A Workout That Doesn't Feel Like Work
Rolling on the mat burns more calories than most gym sessions — but everyone is too focused on solving the puzzle in front of them to notice.

A Community That Shows Up for You
The people you train with become your people. JRoots is the kind of gym where everyone — kids and adults — is welcomed by name from day one.

A Clear Path Forward
From white belt to black belt, every student always knows where they stand and what to work on next. Progress is visible, earned, and deeply satisfying — at any age.

Lukas Aguiar started training Jiu-Jitsu at age 7, inspired by his older brother — a world-class competitor who taught him that a champion's mindset shapes every area of life.
By blue belt, Lukas had already claimed double gold at the 2015 IBJJF World Championship — winning both his weight division and the absolute. He went on to add Pan-American and European titles to his record, competing at the highest levels of the sport.
But his greatest achievement isn't on the medal stand. Graciemag — the world's most respected BJJ publication — featured Professor Lukas for his philosophy of teaching: "I form people before I form champions. Character, discipline, and respect are non-negotiable."
At JRoots Keller, he brings that same standard to every class — with patience, structure, and genuine care for every student on the mat.

People before champions — whether you're 4 or 40, we build character, discipline, and respect before we build technique. That's the foundation everything else is built on.
Ego-free environment — everyone belongs here. From your very first class to black belt, JRoots is a place where beginners are respected, growth is celebrated, and no one is left behind.
Every child gets individual attention — Lukas reads each person's pace, potential, and goals. Whether your child needs patience or you need a push, the instruction adapts to you — not the other way around.
BJJ is actually the best martial art to start from zero — for both kids and adults. You have no bad habits to unlearn. Our beginner program is designed for people starting from scratch, and Professor Lukas is known for making that first step feel natural and welcoming.
We have structured programs for kids starting at age 3 and adults of all ages. The mat has no age limit. The right time to start is right now.
Safety is the first thing Professor Lukas builds into every class. Kids train in age-appropriate groups. Adults train with controlled partners and zero ego culture. You're here to learn — not to survive.
We offer classes across multiple time slots, including mornings, afternoons, and evenings. Most students — kids and adults — train 2–3x per week and see real results within weeks.
That's exactly why we offer the free trial. One class. No commitment. If it's not the right fit, you walk away with nothing lost. But in our experience? Everyone comes back for the second class before we even have to ask.
